Metochi Mylopotamos
Where the eastern coast of Mount Athos welcomes the first rays of the sun beyond the edge of the Aegean Sea, between rocks, an endless river, an olive grove and the green forest, the vineyards of Mylopotamos spread out.
In the first Metochi (Farm) of the Holy Monastery of Megisti Lavra, a vineyard with traditional wine production was planted in 973 AD and continued by the Monk and Elder Epiphanios.
Today, a 50-acre vineyard thrives, from whose grapes the Metochi Mylopotamos wines are produced, with distinctions in Greece and abroad.
